A Quick Look At The Development In NHL Games For Xbox & Playstation Game Consoles

When people look back at their youth it's often through rose tinted spectacles and everything seems like it was much better back then. The food you ate had more taste and the days never seems to end. These days there is not much that you can put your finger on and say that it is definitely better now. That is apart from NHL games for Xbox & Playstation game consoles.

You don't see any kids these days that could get excited about pushing a little white dot around the screen that is supposed to be a puck. The matchstick men that were supposed to resemble a fully padded out Ice hockey player have gone too. Kids still want to play games that they perceive as fun though.

Not all games have advanced their game play to keep up with the increased ability of the platform they are written for. Lots have relied too much on the game's graphical presentation and not enough on the actual gaming essence. No matter how good something looks, it still has to be great fun to play and that is what games players will look for. The games that have gone down in history whether they have been hockey, NHL, console based or not, have all had one thing in common. They have all been very playable. In some, the presentation didn't really matter at all. Like the type with the falling blocks that you have to arrange, many games relied solely on their ability to keep you coming back for more. Hockey games have been no different and no matter who is on the cover of any NHL title, it's what's inside the box that has really mattered. OK so there have been games that have been very successful without the great looks of today's big titles. These have been successful due to the intelligence of the games's inventor. They have known what a player wants and it might not always be a complete NHL league line up with all the stats to go with it. But I bet all that up to date information helped a lot when the players were choosing their best line up to compete against a friend.

So with all the information, the game play and the good presentation in today's NHL titles, it's no surprise that they are as popular as a child with sweets in a playground. Like all games consoles and the sports titles that go with them, the hockey titles have progressed a great deal. The continued progression has seen hockey games and in particular NHL titles catch up with the rest of the sports games out there. In fact NHL games are rapidly becoming one of the most popular team sports games on any platform.

It's lucky then that we are time a time when the advances in technology have made as privy to the world through different eyes. NHL games for Xbox & Playstation game consoles are no so realistic that there are eve television shows that carry earl life live events where two gamers take each other on. Sure enough the industry has evolved and it is probably taking us with it.

Playstation Football Games Come Full Circle

There was a time with the Madden football games were considered to be a failure. This was due to a lot of false starts, if you will, along with the limitations of home computers 2 decades ago that severely limited the vision of the game. Of course it has come a log way since it was released in 1988. There are been over 85 million copies sold world wide adding up to more than 3 billion dollars in revenue. The game now features real professional players, pro-style plays, and the graphics make use of every ounce of technology available. Theses are a small sampling of the many reasons that have made it one of if not the most played playstation football games.

Madden was actually not the first professional approached by the developers of the game back in the 1980's. One of the top Quarterbacks at the time and other coaches were actually offered the opportunity but turned it down either though lack of interest or prior commitments. The game has not remained static by any means. New things are added to each new version which is released every year. Almost 10 years after the game began a new mode called franchise mode was created. This allowed people to control the players if they chose to do so, but it also allowed for drafting, trades, and other functions of a general manager. It was the fist of its type for a football game.

In 2003 multiple ways to play the game were introduced. Players could opt for a single, quick game or they could choose to play an entire season or even multiple seasons. It was as time time that online play, where players could match their skills against others using the internet, was introduced. This was initially available only on the playstation 2 console. In the version released in 2004, the playmaker tool was introduced. This was an exciting new feature that gave players the ability to use joystick control to change the direction of plays at the line of scrimmage. This allowed for better audibles to be chosen after the defensive alignment was seen and greatly enhanced the realism for the game.

When the 2005 version was released, the playmaker tool was implemented for the defense. This was an important addition since in the previous versions the offense could make changes that were difficult for the defense to adjust to. Now, the defense could use the joystick to make adjustments just as the offense could. This made the game more fair on both sides of the ball and once again enhanced it's realism. The trick stick, lead blocker controls, a new weapons control, and even a feature called league play, which allowed up to 32 players to compete through the web over the course of an entire season, each arrived in subsequent versions of the game. The most recent versions shift the focus in an attempt to be more than just a game. The vision for Madden is now to be a more true to life simulation. Playstation football games have dominated for good reason and have become as much a simulation as they are a video game. Playstation 3 Madden football games have been super popular for over 20 years, and future development promise to make the simulation even more true to life.

The Popularity Of Video Game Madden Tournaments Among The Fans Of The Franchise

Imagine a crowd forming around and chanting you name. People are screaming in joy and there are high fives going all around. No this is not a concert that you are the star of but one of the many Video game madden tournaments that are held all across the country each and every year.

While the layout of the game has changed and it has seen several platforms in the past several years, the one thing that has not changed is the amount of popularity that the games has had. There are serious tournaments all across the country to determine the king of the football franchise. This has become as big as any other sports tournament that you can think of, these tend to get national attention and allow a person the chance to say that they are the best of the best.

The excitement of the game is one of the things that has led to there being such a following by the faithful of the game. It is hard to believe that at one time this entire franchise was looking at being trashed and done away with. Today this is a part of our culture.

If you think that this is just a bunch of people sitting around with an excuse to play video games, think again. These are often times sponsored by national companies and held at popular sports bars all across the country. The people that enter these are not amateurs and have been training for months in order to have a shot at being great.

There is little doubt that these tournaments are held to see who can out run or out pass their opponents. While the game has evolved quite a bit in the few years the passion for people playing has not died and has increased by a lot in the past few years.

There is a great amount of strategy that goes into forming a play against another opponent that you have no idea is going to run on you. This makes things a lot more difficult and means that you need to adjust on the fly in such a circumstance. These tournaments allow a person to see and feel what it is like to be an actual coach. They are having to second guess their opponents and hope that they have the best game plan in place. When it is all said and done, there can only be one true winner, the player that is able to out move and outwit their opponents will be rewarded with the game console and if it is a national event a trip to the next round of playoffs. This is where things become tougher and the stakes are higher. Maybe it is the thrill of playing as your favorite player, or the draw of knowing that you are the best at something. Whatever the reason for the popularity, there seems to be no end in sight for this franchise and for the fans that love the game. The next time that you see an advertisement for Video game madden tournaments, remember that somewhere there is a player that is training to have the right to be called champion and working towards the ultimate goal of being the best in the world.
